About the Election of the 2021 Chamber Board of Directors:

Additional names of candidates for officers and directors can be nominated by petition, bearing the signatures of at least ten (10) members of the Chamber. Such petitions will be filed with the Chamber's Executive Director, Lauren Grymek, at least ten (10) days prior to the Annual Meeting. The names of all valid nominees will then be presented at the Annual Meeting. Please contact Lauren Grymek at lauren@melrosechamber.org or 781-665-3033 with any questions.

About Denise Gaffey, Key Note Speaker:

Denise Gaffey is the Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of Melrose.  Denise received her MA in Urban Planning from Tufts University and began work in the Planning Office as the Assistant City Planner in the late 1990s.  She has been the Planning Director for the past 20 years.    

The Planning Department provides long range planning, manages the capital improvement program, reviews and recommends zoning changes, pursues grant opportunities and implements special projects.  The Department supports the work of several Boards and Commissions in the City and reviews all major land use proposals, including subdivision plans and significant residential and commercial development proposals.  It’s a dynamic Department that touches up many aspects of the community from housing, economic development, infrastructure improvement, historic preservation, energy efficiency, open space and land use planning.
