The Melrose-based Follow Your Art Community Studios (FYA) second annual public art fundraiser, “Chalk Walk 2022,” will take place Sat., Oct. 1 and expand to include community- and artist-made works near Ell Pond, and along the city’s Main Street corridor. Rain date is Sun., Oct. 2.

Last year’s inaugural “Chalk Walk” event drew more than 200 artists, community groups and families to make or sponsor colorful chalk paintings on the 700 Main Street pathway near Ell Pond and the walkway in front of Melrose City Hall. 

Chalk drawings will be created from 10am-1pm along Main Street; the final pieces can be enjoyed all day and throughout the weekend, weather permitting.
