Dementia Friends Massachusetts

Dementia Friends Massachusetts
Tuesday, April 15, 2025 (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. Developed by the Alzheimer’s Society in the United Kingdom, Dementia Friends helps everyone in a community understand what dementia is, how it affects people, and how each of us can make a difference.
The Council on Aging encourages you to attend a 1-hour information session with trained Dementia Champions to:
Learn the 5 key messages about how dementia affects people.
Gain insight into communication changes.
Find out how you can make a difference by turning your understanding into action.
Attendees of these sessions will have their businesses highlighted on a resource map of Melrose that can be distributed to over 7,000 older adults in our community! They will also receive a sticker for their storefront designating them a Dementia Friendly location!
