A Night of Theater to Benefit MVES

A Night of Theater to Benefit MVES

Thursday, April 10, 2025 (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Support older adults and people with disabilities in your community by joining Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES) for its annual Spring for Independence fundraiser.

MVES will host a benefit performance of “The Play That Goes Wrong,” on Thursday, April 10, at Greater Boston Stage Company in Stoneham. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a pre-show reception with complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by the show at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $80 each at www.mves.org/the-play-that-goes-wrong.

The show is a play within a play in which a theater troupe attempts to stage a 1920s murder mystery — but the cast and crew are beset by one calamity after another. Audiences find themselves rooting for, but still laughing at, the troupe’s attempt to struggle through ever-growing chaos.

MVES would like to thank its Lead Sponsor, John and Wendy Pereira. For more about the show or about Sponsorship, please contact the MVES Development Department at 781-388-4802 or development@mves.org.

All proceeds will support underfunded programs and services and help MVES’ mission of empowering older adults and people with disabilities to live independently. Founded in 1975, Mystic Valley Elder Services is a nonprofit that provides resources and care in Melrose and nearby communities. Services include Meals on Wheels, transportation, in-home assistance, health insurance counseling, caregiver support, and more. For more information, call 781-324-7705 or visit www.mves.org.
