About

Curt’s practice encompasses a wide range of litigation matters, including complex commercial and business litigation, construction, personal injury, zoning and land use disputes, health care, and insurance defense and coverage issues. As part of his litigation practice, Curt also represents medical professionals in disciplinary and administrative hearings at various licensing boards, including the Boards of Registration in Medicine, Nursing, and Dentistry. Curt works with the firm’s Health Law practice group to assist clients in the health care industry, including medical centers, group practices, and individual physicians and dentists, with respect to a wide range of health care regulatory and litigation matters, including HIPAA compliance, governmental investigations and insurance audits.

Curt often counsels clients on risk assessment and claims management strategy to avoid litigation where possible. However, where litigation is necessary, Curt has the breadth of experience to handle cases from their inception, through trial and, if necessary, through appeal. Curt has tried cases to verdict in both the Superior and District Courts in Massachusetts, and has appeared before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Curt is a frequent panelist for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education courses, where he recently moderated a panel for newly admitted attorneys to discuss legal ethics and practicing law with professionalism. Curt has been named a Massachusetts Rising Star in the legal profession for four consecutive years. Rising Stars are selected by other attorneys as being among the top up-and-coming lawyers in the Commonwealth and must be 40 years old or younger, or in practice 10 years or less to be eligible for this honor. Only 2.5 percent of lawyers in Massachusetts are distinguished as Rising Stars each year.

Curt is an active volunteer in his community and within the Melrose Public School system. He serves as an appointed member of the City of Melrose Zoning Board of Appeals, which gives him a unique perspective on zoning and land use matters. Curt also tries to relive his sports glory days as a little league coach and youth soccer coach.

Before he began his legal career, Curt worked for a member of the Massachusetts Legislature and was responsible for drafting legislation and advising legislators on a variety of policy matters. Curt is also a former Adjunct Professor of Legal Research and Writing at New England Law | Boston.
